Michael Villarreal
Throughout Michael’s career, he has become known for his dynamic, spirited playing and technical fluidity. He has made soloist appearances and performed for thousands of people in San Antonio's most prominent performance venues such as the AT&T Center, The Tobin Center, Laurie Auditorium, and The Majestic Theater. He has been featured in an international tour throughout China where he performed in Beijing, Hong Kong and the world expo in Shanghai. Throughout Michael’s career, he has had the opportunity to learn from members of the following symphonies, (Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, St, Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and The Cleveland Orchestra). Michael has also had the honor of learning from international soloists such as Lynn Harrell, Ralph Kirshbaum, Johannes Moser, Jian Wang.. Michael made his soloist debut as a guest soloist with the San Antonio Symphony in 2014 performing Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1. Michael continues to perform throughout the San Antonio community. As an advocate for the arts, his performances and community outreach have helped raise millions of dollars for local arts organizations. Michael maintains a private studio of nearly forty students within the San Antonio community.
